Casa del Cardenal

We stayed over easter in this beautiful Casa del Cardenal. Such a wonderful place, where they warmly welcomed us. The room was really clean, spacious and with a lot of elegance.
It's central located in the Medina and it's easy to reach every place on foot. Inside the house is it quite, what it makes so wonderful.
If you have any question, Alfonso is helping you and has a lot of good ideas.
Highly recommended for a stay in this beautiful city.

Amazing accommodation in a meticulously renovated 14th century casa. Alfonso and Yanet are fabulous hosts and an asset to this property. Alfonso’s communication prior to our arrival was prompt and reassuring and he met us at the property to guide us to the nearby parking garage. The property is located inside the pedestrian zone, to access you press the button at the boom gate and Alfonso registers your license plate with the authorities. Delicious breakfast made to order. Fantastic roof top terrace with great views, refreshing pool and an honesty bar - perfect way to unwind after exploring Còrdoba in the heat. 10/10 recommend staying at this perfect oasis!

Wonderful hotel, right next to the mosque and close to the roman bridge. Nice modern rooms. On a small mostly pedestrian street but no noticeable street noise. Beautiful roof terrace with views of the mosque cathedral. Also has a refreshing pool up there for cooling off in the summer. Would stay here again.

Alfonso is a very attentive host – the Casa del Cardenal isn’t just a place to stay, it’s a home away from home during your time in Córdoba. He got in touch beforehand and was then waiting for us in person at the entrance at the agreed time to open the door. After a welcome drink, he explained how everything worked at the hotel and was on hand to provide further information on restaurants, excursions and so on. The room was brilliant: clean, very quiet (you’re right in the centre yet hear almost nothing of the city noise), with water and coffee always topped up the next day; you couldn’t hear the air conditioning, but it ran very comfortably. Breakfast was served with a smile and was excellent. Next time I’m in Córdoba, I’ll definitely book with Alfonso and his team again. Thank you!

Superbe hôtel !
L’endroit est fantastique, très propre, beaucoup de charme, très bien équipé, très bien situé. La terrasse est très belle et la piscine agréable pour se rafraîchir.
Alfonso est très sympathique et nous a fourni un lit parapluie pour notre bébé.
Il y a également un parking sécurisé à 2 minutes à pieds.

Had a lovely stay here whilst visisting the flower festival. The host was attentive and gave us great tips for cordoba. The location was amazing and reachable by car. Be aware the streets are small a big car might not be the easiest to navigate through the narrow streets and loads of people.

We werden onderweg naar het hotel al prettig geholpen door het fijne contact met Alfonso. Bij aankomst stond hij ons persoonlijk op te wachten en parkeerde onze auto. Daarna werden we hartelijk ontvangen met een drankje van het huis, waardoor we direct een warm welkom voelden. Alles was perfect geregeld en verliep soepel en zorgeloos.

De entree van het hotel maakte meteen indruk: via een zware houten deur stap je een prachtige binnenplaats op, waar het zachte geluid van een fontein ervoor zorgde dat alle drukte direct van ons af gleed. Het hotel is kleinschalig en beschikt over een lift. De ligging is ideaal, dicht bij de Mezquita en het centrum, maar toch in een rustige zijstraat net buiten de drukte. Alles is eenvoudig te voet bereikbaar, waardoor we de auto de hele tijd niet hebben gebruikt.

De kamer was schoon en zeer ruim, met een groot bed, een mini-keuken en een koelkastje, wat net wat extra comfort bood. Het ontbijt is prima, maar in de directe omgeving zijn ook veel gezellige Spaanse taverna’s die al vroeg openen. Zo gingen wij graag ontbijten bij Horno del Mel, en op zondag is Singular een goede optie, omdat veel andere zaken dan gesloten zijn. Voor de lunch is Le Baron een aanrader voor heerlijke tapas.

Het hotel beschikt daarnaast over een prachtig dakterras met uitzicht op de Mezquita en de klokkentoren, waar je kunt genieten van schitterende zonsondergangen. Ook is er een klein zwembad voor wat verkoeling en een fijne plek om te ontspannen na een dag in de stad.

Een tip: bezoek de klokkentoren zodra deze opengaat, zodat je de stad ziet ontwaken zonder de drukte van toeristen. Ook de Mezquita is juist in de vroege ochtend op haar mooist.

In Córdoba vinden wij dat er een prettige, ontspannen sfeer hangt, en in combinatie met de geweldige gastvrijheid van het hotel maakt dat dat we hier zeker nog eens terugkomen. Dank voor het fijne verblijf, Alfonso en zijn team!

Es un sitio espectacular, con mucho encanto y con una ubicación perfecta en plena judería. Las habitaciones son increíbles y el servicio un 10. He estado un par de veces y ver el atardecer en el ático, con esas vistas es inigualable. Repetiré sin duda.

Han sido varias visitas a Córdoba en pareja las que he hecho, pero sin lugar a dudas en esta me quedo con la comodidad, el emplazamiento y el lujo de Casa del Cardenal, la Mezquita muy cerca, las habitaciones preciosas, la comodidad de la cama muy buena, el personal super atento y amable. We had a wonderful stay at Casa del Cardenal in Córdoba. The apartment itself was beautiful, comfortable, and very well located, making it easy to explore the historic center of the city.

Staff were incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful.

We would definitely recommend Casa del Cardenal to anyone visiting Córdoba and would happily stay here again in the future.

If you’re visiting Córdoba, do yourself a favor and stay at Casa del Cardenal. This was our second time here, and after our first visit we promised ourselves we’d come back for a full week. Seven days later, we can confidently say: this is the kind of place that makes you fall deeper in love with the city.

Mornings start with Yanet’s incredible breakfast—homemade jams, fresh muffins, and the kind of care that instantly makes you feel at home. She’s both the chef and the heart of the house, and her warmth sets the tone for every day.

Then there’s Alfonso. Truly the most attentive host we’ve ever encountered. From arranging taxis to sharing the best local recommendations to making check-in and check-out seamless—he’s somehow always available. You couldn’t ask for better hospitality.

What really makes Casa del Cardenal special is the feeling of having the whole property at your fingertips, day or night. Every corner is peaceful, beautifully designed, and unmistakably Córdoba. It’s not just a stay—it’s an experience.

Our stay at the Casa del Cardenal was very nice all around. The rooms are gorgeous and very modern. The location was perfect, close to all the major attractions. The terrace has a nice view of the Mezquita. The host Alfonso is wonderful and very helpful.

We had two rooms booked (Jade and Lapis Lazuli). Very spacious, clean rooms. AC worked great, rooms were quiet and both faced the outside and didn't hear any outside noise. This hotel is right in the center of the city, down the street from the Mosque-Cathedral (which is stunning and a must see), and everything you could want is nearby. The hotel communicated via WhatsApp clearly and consistently for the night we were there and answered any questions we had. The rooftop was cute, we just had a bit of rain so didn't spend time there. Staff was present during check-in hours (I believe between 9-3 or so) but they ask you your arrival time to try to be there and help when you get there. Everything was clearly explained to us when we arrived, he went with us to each room and explained the AC, lighting controls, coffee machine, etc. He couldn't have been more helpful and gave us dinner recommendations as well which were top notch. He also ordered a taxi for us in the morning at check out. Would absolutely stay here again if in Cordoba and would recommend to anyone.

Ok, it's not the cheapest but it is FAB-U-LOUS! From start to finish the whole trip worked like a dream. I mean constant, calm communication meant we felt safe; beautiful apartment and a whole afternoon with a sun terrace and private plunge pool and Cordoba over your shoulder - literally. If you're not sure, just book, you won't be disappointed.

They opened in '22 so everything looks clean and modern.

Keep in mind you are in a prime location so you may get some noise from the street but if you don't go to sleep at 8pm the streets will have quieted down enough.

Im a very light sleeper and even for me it was not an issue.

aside from that , location is unbeatable. rooftop is amazing.

Beyond expectations!!! Wow just wow. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and important. We booked last minute and with only a few reviews it seems hard to know but this has been an amazing experience. The room is large with a sofa, small fridge, stove pans and dishes. The shower is nice and everything is very clean. It is only a block from the Mesquita, the bridge, restaurants and is very walkable to the city centre. I only have good things to say and I totally recommend this place. Note: we had to press a button to get access to the road the hotel is on because it is restricted.

Ein traumhaftes kleines Hotel mit fünf wunderschönen Appartements und einer angenehmen privaten Atmosphäre!
Wir hatten mit der Großfamilie vier der Appartements gemietet und haben uns von Jung bis Alt mehr als wohl und willkommen gefühlt!
Ein wunderschöner alter Palazzo modern und sehr schick renoviert. Die Dachterrasse ist herrlich und die Lage mitten im Centrum fantastisch.
Und die Gastgeber beantworten jeden Frage und erfüllten jeden unserer Wünsche.
Absolut zu empfehlen ????????!

Book last minute and were pleasantly surprised at how great everything was. We let Alfonso know we would be arriving by car and would need electric car parking. He found the closest location for us.

When we arrived he walked us through how to use the hotel and the bar in the evening.

The room was perfect for myself, husband, and son. Beds comfortable, heated floor was great in December, nespresso pods, quiet in the evening.

Had a wonderful stay and would definitely book again next time we are in town. The location is unbeatable. Walking distance to everything.

My family stayed here June 14, 2024. Alfonso texted me to check on our arrival plans then graciously gave a tour of the hotel as he led us to our room. The hotel is well appointed, quiet, and located near the Mezquita allowing easy walking to the major attractions. My family enjoyed Casa del Cardenal more than the tony Seville hotel or opulent Moroccan riad later in our vacation.

Alojamiento perfecto en una zona inmejorable.

Gustó · Hemos estado una noche en la Casa del Cardenal y nos ha encantado. Alfonso es supersimpático; nos atendió estupendamente y estuvo disponible siempre que lo necesitamos.

La casa está muy muy cerca de la Mezquita, está perfectamente aislada acústicamente y dentro se respira paz y tranquilidad. La habitación estaba muy limpia y tanto la decoración como el orden están muy cuidados.

La entrada y salida del hotel se pueden hacer online, por lo que el proceso es muy cómodo.

Si alguna vez volvemos a Córdoba, nos alojaremos aquí sin dudarlo.

This place was just fantastic. Wish we could have stayed longer. They contacted us asking for an arrival time so they would know when to expect us. When we got there they walked us in and offered us a drink to relax while they got us checked in.

They walked us through how to get in in the evening, the room functions (like A/C) and the hidden doorway to the stairs. They showed us their lounge where they serve breakfast (€15 each if I recall correctly, but we had to check out before breakfast), and the door to their wine cellar if we wanted to just go look around.

They have an honor system for their bar where you write down what drinks you had and they’ll add it to your bill. They have water and soda available there also.

Great service, great location (half block to the Mezquita), great people. It was my son and I this time, but when I bring my wife back to Córdoba this will be where we stay.

Also, do NOT miss the rooftop view of the Mezquita from this place!!
